We are Seeking an English Ministry Pastor:

Our Prayerful Need

We initiate our search for an Associate Pastor for our English speaking ministry to serve alongside our Associate Pastor for our Chinese speaking ministry.  Located in the Renton Highlands area, we are uniquely situated to serve families and individuals in Renton, Kent, southern Bellevue, and other parts of South King County.  Over the last few years, we have been trying to grow youth and young family ministries.  Our current three primary needs are:

• Preaching:  As the English congregation pastor, he needs to preach God’s word by seeking God’s will for His people, encouraging them to follow God’s commandments and live a life modeled after Jesus Christ. 

• Teaching:  He teaches Sunday School and leads a small group to help the members grow and understand God’s word deeply.  He should train teachers and leaders to teach different classes/groups, and prepare the congregation to grow.

• Build up the leadership / core team:  He should help the core team members grow, support them as they serve, and to shepherd the leadership team as they serve families, early careerists, international students, college, youth, and children.

Our Pastoral Candidate Criteria

• The Associate Pastor for the English speaking ministry must be a godly servant who has a close walk with God.  He should be a person who has a servant’s heart, a faithful prayer life, and a humble spirit.  He should also be sincere and forgiving.

• He acknowledges the authority of the Bible, and teaches with the intimate knowledge of it.

• He will shepherd with a caring and compassionate heart.  He must be a people person, and have a Christ centered family.

• He must commit to the Great Commission with love for the unsaved and be a soul-winner.

• He should have proven leadership experience, with vision and ability to unify.

• He must be able to preach in English fluently.

Our Church Background

In late 1994, ECC of SKC was planted in Renton, Washington, around 15 miles southeast of downtown Seattle by 10 families from Evangelical Chinese Church of Seattle (ECC-Seattle).  Since then, the church has grown to a Mandarin speaking congregation of 120 and an English speaking congregation (started in 2001) of 50.  ECC-SKC is an evangelical non-denominational church with adults and children.  Today, we have a full time Chinese Ministry pastor, serving deacons, and a governing elder board.
